Metal, Leather and Glass Arts
Meet the Artist
As primarily a metalworker, the majority of Kay's work gives life to vintage metal tools such as old hand saws, saw blades, shovel heads, etc. Kay's process involves transferring all of her own hand drawn designs onto old pieces of metal and then cutting out the designs by hand with a plasma torch. Though Kay loves working with metal, she also enjoys exploring other mediums such as stained glass, jewelry making, printmaking and occasionally painting or drawing. Her main exploration lately has been in leather and fiber arts, as she explores the world of hats and hatbands. Kay's studio is based in Steamboat Springs, Clorado.
